Introduction

About Me

My name is Sanana Lewanika. I studying Drama since I was 15. I went to Barking College School of Performing Arts at the age of 16 for 2 years. I did 3 different styles of Dance which were Jazz, Tap and Street dance. I also took Singing lessons which was a compulsory part of the course. Within the course I had performed in 4 Plays, 3 Musicals theater productions and 2 Dance productions. After I successfully completed the course at college, I decided to carry on studying Drama.

At the age of 18 I started a Drama and Theater studies course at Middlesex, the course was taught at Barnet College. During my time on this course I was given my chances to work with a variety of people of different ages and abilities as well as myself. I have been able to work with different types of theater, from physical to Commedia De'll Arte plus different practitioners such as Bertolt Brecht, Stanislavski, Peter Brooke and Robert Le Page. The performances that we have done on this course have helped me to demonstrate how effective my listening plus communication skills are. These skills are essential when working as part of a team as they enable me to be understanding and helpful when working within a group.

This course also helped me to develop my written skills. The one thing that I have found as what could be possible down fall, is the ability to do written work on time. I have always found that I’m the type of person who leaves things to the night before to get done. I however do get my work done, I tend to work well under pressure.

Once I finished my 2years on the FD course I can wait to get started on my BA Hons. I completed the course in June 2010 and I have now started the BAPP course at Middlesex, it took me nearly 6 months to get back in to Uni. I’m very happy that I’m the course now because I finally get the chance to complete what I’ve started at Barnet.
